Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council (SMBC) needed to refresh their current assessment of the risks to the project. The Council also wanted to increase the understanding of quantitative risk analysis amongst its project management team.

Equib carried out a risk workshop and a risk management training session to improve their staff’s overall appreciation of the commercial aspects for risk management and how it helps in the execution of contracts and management of project contingencies. Our risk review updated the position of their risk register, providing:

  • Outputs to feed into SMBC’s Grace strategic risk management system.
  • An assessment of project contingency reflecting on the contractor’s and client’s view of upcoming challenges.
  • Risk mitigation actions to ensure collective action to address typical challenges relating to road modifications work, such as street lighting, bus stop alterations and resident matters.
  • Ensured Project Managers appreciate best practice approaches to risk management and its commercial implicatioans.
