Network Rail / Costain – London Bridge Station Redevelopment

The redevelopment of London Bridge station, creating new platforms for more trains, building a new concourse, and creating a bigger and better station for passengers. The changes will allow the introduction of more Thameslink trains every day – up to 18 trains an hour through London Bridge – offering better connections than ever before.

Equib were initially brought in to review and improve the project controls function on the project; and as part of this the risk and opportunities management processes have been re-launched.  With risk services including:

• The linkages with the commercial disciplines (change and contingency management) have been enhanced and codified, and detailed QCRA analysis and profiling of the risk carried out.
• The work has included involvement in a full baselining exercise that incorporated the assessment of estimating tolerances, provisional sum/ allowance analysis, a full QSRA including mitigation identification and modelling etc.

The management of the risk has been carried out to NR standards, utilising the ARM risk database system.
